Spring Flowers

In honor of the recent Spring Equinox, I wanted to posting a few of my favorite spring inspired bouquets. Though many of these blooms can be found year round, it is the whimsy and joie de vive with which these floral combinations are arranged, that inspire dreams of sunkissed afternoons.

Simple elegance, found in a casual hand tied cascade of white clematis blooms and vines. (Image from Martha Stewart Weddings)

A cheerful domed bouquet featuring at least two types of yellow tea roses, yellow spray roses and peach garden roses. (Image from Martha Stewart Weddings)

This delightfully soft and feminine cascading bouquet is composed of pink ranunculus, pink spray roses, white lily of the valley and white nerines. (Image from InStyle Weddings, Spring 2008)

With this fabulously fluffy bouquet of lilac, purple sweet peas and purple lisianthus it's easy to see why plum is one of the "it" colors of 2009. (Image from Martha Stewart Weddings)

Affordable Couture Wedding Gowns

After my appearance on WE TVs "Platinum Weddings," I've gained tremendous national attention.

Brides from all over the country email me daily, asking questions as unique and diversified as they are...but one consistent question that I get is "where did you find that gown?" Unfortunately, the gown that I wore is no longer being produced, but in an attempt to help more feature brides find their perfect dress, I thought that I'd pass along the info on the company that helped me find my perfect gown. Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 1

Tonight is an exciting night for me. I am going to be attending the YWD Magazine launch party for the release of their Spring '09 issue. In honor of my article in the new issue on "Estate Weddings" (pages 197-199), I thought that I would write a series of posts, highlighting my favorite event/wedding estates, palaces and off-site venues located all over the world. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at: Ariel Yve Design

Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 2

This venue is a castle located right here in the US...New York to be exact. Numerous celebrities, aristocrats and socialites have married within the castle's walls. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at: Ariel Yve Design

Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 3

Here are images from one of the grandest venues in the world. This location is in San Francisco, can gracefully accommodate 120-400+ guests and features a massive 23 karat gold encrusted dome. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at: Ariel Yve Design

Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 4

Another one of my favorite San Francisco Off-site venues. This venue is managed by the city, so the rental is quite reasonable. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at: Ariel Yve Design Note, even though this massive space is covered, this is al fresco, so it should only be considered for events to be held during the summer months if you don't want to see heaters in your pictures (a pet peeve of mine).

Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 5

Here are a few images of a greatly underutilized venue located right here in Los Angeles. The rental is really affordable and the architecture is amazing. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at Ariel Yve Design

Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 6

This is a stunning Royal Palace located just outside of London. During a European holiday with my husband Joey (boyfriend at the time), I visited this palace. The state apartments and gardens where absolutely stunning. So much so that Joey came really close to proposing to me on the spot. Anyway, during our exploration of the palace, We'd discovered that the grounds where available "for hire" as the Brits say. From that moment on, We couldn't get this location out of our heads. Favorite Wedding Estates, Palaces and Off Site Venues: Part 7

Last but far from least is in my opinion the most stunning palace I have ever seen. This palatial estate is located just outside of Paris and has played host to some of the worlds most illustrious soirees. Every time, I see this venue, I literally get choked up because the beauty of the architecture is so great. Hey what can I say, I'm a Taurus...I strongly identify with beauty and grandeur.

Last Minute Holiday Wedding

I just received an email from Michael and Anna Costa, with a link to view their work from the wedding of one of my sweetest couples, June and Jim.

In the first week of December '08, I received a phone call from a concerned bride who had a budget of $5,500 and wanted to get married on 12/30/08(which at the time, was only three weeks away). Though the bride and groom had been soul mates for nearly 8 years, and engaged for 6 of the 8 years, life got in the way a number of times, delaying June and Jim from making their love official. Just out of curiosity, I asked the bride why she was suddenly in such a rush. She replied "On December 30th, Jim is going to be turning 40. Being the romantic that he is, his only birthday wish is to get married." We've moved! Please find the rest of this post at: Ariel Yve Design

2009 Trends

I'm constantly asked about past, present and future trends in weddings, so I thought that that I'd take a moment to share what we'll be seeing in 2009.

The Setting:

With budgets tightening, it is projected that nearly 70% of brides will opt to have a destination wedding (non-hometown) in attempt to cut back on the guest list.

The Day-
Friday night. Most locations offer lower food and beverage for events not held on Saturdays. In Los Angeles, Fridays are typically the best value. In Santa Barbara, Sundays reign supreme in terms of cost savings. We've moved! Please find the rest of this post; Ariel Yve Design
